My Jewellery Trees are created from bits and pieces of silver plated cutlery, bowls, goblets and vases. A lot of peices are quite old and have a lot of character. Basically I bend and twist them into the shape I want and then solder them together. Fork prongs are twisted into hooks which are for hanging necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings etc. Spoons are for things that can't hang, like studs, clip-ons, brooches etc.
I clean them up as best I can and then seal them with a special clear sealant which stops tarnish. So no time and energy wasted on cleaning!
