Mendi Baron is a Singer/Songwriter/Alternative Rock Artist living in Los Angeles, CABorn and bred in Columbia MD, Mendi is a Rabbi’s son, a Therapist working with At-Risk teens, and a musician, and was raised in a life of music, both at the head of the congregation, and at home.Today Mendi is a performing artist with a guitar on his back, a kippa (Jewish Skullcap) on his head, and a catchy- original Alternative Rock sound…In Fall 2010 Mendi was noticed by legendary record producer Tal Herzberg (Black Eyed Peas, Orianthi, Christina Aguilara, Lady Gaga, Coldplay among many others http://www.discogs.com/artist/Tal+Herzberg) Together they recorded a single featuring Mendi backed by the members of the band "As I Am", the last A+R project Tal worked on before his tragic passing in April 2011Mendi is currently living in LA working on two new tracks to accompany the single and procuring a record dealPast performancesinclude: Merriweather Post Pavilion (Columbia _ 40 festival), The Unite States Capitol Building/National Mall D.C, Six Flags Theme Parks countrywide, Sykesville Summer Concerts, Columbia Lakefront Festival, Howard Community College, Israel Festival, Jewish in Gaithersburg Festival, Bourbon Street Live, many local venues, clubs and privately booked shows as well as a 75+ date nationwide tour May-Aug 2010 with his band "As I Am"..Influences include:Paramore,Three Doors Down, matchbox 20, Daughtry, Santana, Nickleback, Coldplay, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd,Colbie Callaigh,Dylan, REM, U2,Marley,Breaking Benjamin, Shinedown, as well as many others.
