The program meets five days a week from 3:30 pm-6:00 p.m. Students receive homework assistance, tutoring in basic subjects, performing arts courses, field trips, and a snack. The counselors of the program are usually Education students and academic professionals from the local university. Registration usually takes place during the second week in September. Please contact CHYC for registration info.
Project Excell is an arts and academic enrichment program that meets on Saturdays for youth ages 6-12. Students are given drama, dance, photography, english and math courses. Tell Mama Now
The elders of our organization have made such a tremendous contribution to our youth and the community at large. Therefore, we have created a center for our seniors to meet five days a week. We provide games, lunch, aerobics, singing, and local field trips. If you know a senior that wants to participate, please contact us at (718)756-7600 or CHYC email.
Tell Mama Now was founded by CHYC's co-founder Dr. Myrah Brown Green. It is a program for girls ages 7-12, and meets in 4-week semesters during the academic school year. Students are mentored and taught specialized art techniques by professional artists. Dr. Myrah Brown Green is an art historian, quilter, and Arts advisor to the Dean of Humanities and The Arts at CCNY. She has also published various art books. This program is currently sponsored by in-kind donations.
The CHYC hosts Jazz At The Triangle Park On Washington Ave and Union St. in Brooklyn, New York for 9- weeks during the summer. These performances are produced by Richard E. Green and sponsored by the Crown Heights Youth Collective.
