I graduated from Aurora High School in 1975. I then enlisted in the United States Navy until I was honorably discharged in 1979. I attended SMSU (MSU) from 1980-2000, earning multiple degrees. 1987- BFA in painting, drawing, graphic design, and sculpture. Equivalent of four degrees.In the interim I continued to take art classes and special education classes while taking my teaching classes.1988- Substituted in Springfield public schools until 1997, mainly in special education1992- Teaching Certificate in art education.1993- Started a group home for autisitc children1997- Obtained temporary teaching certificate to teach in Springfield, Missouri1998- Special education degree, specializing in the severely mentally handicapped. I also have enough credit hours for degrees in ceramics, print making, and metals/jewelry.My personal self-taught specialty is mold making.2000 to Present- Teaching at Helias Catholic High School

I have been involved with many mission trips at Helias, including trips to Memphis, TN; Springfield, Illinois; and St. Louis, Missouri.

American Legion Mural
In 2006 some of my art students and I painted a 36 ft x 24 ft mural on the side of the American Legion Hall, in tribute to the members of the United States military and POW's. Jefferson City's local newspaper, The News Tribune, published an article focusing on our creation and our efforts.

The Cruise-ader Club is a club designed for students with an interest in automotive building and restoration.Our current project is restoring a 1955 Chevrolet 150 handyman (2-door station wagon, not a nomad).
