La Perlita
If you want a break from downtown restaurants and are looking for a palapa type atmosphere give it a try. La Perlita is one of the best fresh seafood restaurants of the island. This restaurant is located away from the tourist areas a “taxi” can get you there just say LA PERLITA .
La Choza
For Mexican food, I like this place, and so do a lot of locals. The table sauces and guacamole are great, and the daily specials can be good, too. This is an open-air restaurant with well-spaced tables under a tall thatched roof. (palapa)
Freedom in paradise (RASTAS)
Freedom in Paradise is as much a state of mind as it is a place. Situated on the southern corner of Cozumel, it’s a favorite of the locals who flock there on their days off to escape for a few hours. The stunning and romantic open ocean vista makes freedom the perfect place to walk on the beach, watch the sun dance on the waves or just unwind after a hectic day chasing deals downtown. Just drop into a hammock, breathe out and feel the stress evaporate as you check out the menu while sipping a fruity tropical drink or a cold beer.
La Cocay
The food is an eclectic mix of Mediterranean with a touch of Mexico and the Caribbean. Dine either inside or out. The dining room is furnished in modern style with soft light and music. The garden in back is lovely. A couple of the main courses showed a sure touch: pork in a Moroccan sauce and scallops with a cognac glaze. The chocolate torte that the restaurant is known for takes a little extra time to prepare -- order it early.
Guido’s
Guido’s since 1978. In the shade of trees and bougainvillea you will enjoy traditional home made pastas, individual wood oven pizzas, regional seafood and fish (strictly reef friendly ?catches) “Angus” beef, homemade ice cream and exquisite desserts.
EL FOCO
El Foco restaurant has the best tacos in town. Friendly atmosphere, and the price is right
Open all nightlong.
