Cozumel, Mexico can be the ultimate dive destination
Selecting a place to dive can be complicated. In these days of the economic minded diver, you really want the most for your dollar. Diving in Cozumel, Mexico can be the ultimate dive destination. The beautiful reefs, sea life and clear blue ocean provide you with the ultimate visual experience of the under the sea world. The island itself is a learning experience. So much history to share.
I have found that Dive Paradise with their knowledgeable spanish and english speaking staff serve you in every way possible. All with one goal in mind ~ to make your dive experience the best. Broken fin strap, they will have a replacement. Batteries, how many and what size do you need. Dive Gear, what do you need to rent. There have been instances when I have personally witnessed dive masters repairing a diver's gear aboard the boat. Want that special memory have a scubatoon done by Rafael - well worth the modest fee. Apple, the owner of Dive Paradise, is a hands on operator who does everything humanly possible to accommodate the diver. The diver's safety is Apple's first concern. The complete summary of services can be found at www.diveparadise.com.

I am always looking for moderately priced lodging and I found it at the Hotel Barracuda. The rooms are clean and well kept up. You have your own patio/porch, room refrigerator, gear storage, a restaurant/bar, pool, plus ocean front diving all within walking distance from downtown. A new super center is across the street from the hotel. The dive boat picks you up right at the dock. The staff is the best. For more information visit www.hotelbarracuda.com.
Do not limit yourself, pick up a map and take a day to explore the island. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Cozumel is a place I love and have been enjoying for twenty years. You will not be disappointed!

Wonderful Family Experience
Brian, my husband and Bradley, my son, had the wonderful opportunity to fly to Cozumel during Spring Break. Bradley had already taken the pool and book work back in Atlanta so all he needed was the ocean skills and dive boat experience. My son was thrilled to go on his first plane trip, Caribbean trip and open water experience. Wow, he was impressed with the beautiful water, neat architecture of the Villablanca Hotel and friendly people.
Our second day in Cozumel, we took Bradley for his shore skills and immediately he saw his first sea horse and other neat critters while getting his skills accomplished. Later, we all went on Bradley's first boat experience for the boat dive. Everybody was very nice and made Bradley feel comfortable. Mission accomplished!!! Bradley was hooked. He couldn't get over how pretty and clear the water was and how nice the temperatures were, even during Spring Break.
While on vacation we had the opportunity to do many things. One day we got on a ferry boat and went over to Tulum. We hired a tour guide so got the complete education of Tulum. It was amazing to see how the Mexicans lived back years ago.
One night we went through the town of Cozumel and visited gift shops and brought home fun souveniers. The nightlife is full of people dining at restaurants, shopping and taking fun photo's.
Another day we went to a local water park so Bradley could hang out with all the kids. The park had everything from food, lounge chairs, snorkeling, water trampolines and wall climbing. We had a blast. We even got our photo's made with igunas on our heads and in our arms. What a blast. We also took the time to drive around the island which was more secluded. It was beautiful to see all the conch shells washed up on the beach. I was like a kid in a candy store. It was also just very peaceful. Touring around the island was interesting to see what else Cozumel had to offer along with all the history packed in it including more Mayan ruins.
We stayed at the Villablanca. Our room overlooked the beautiful ocean, pool, hot tub, and restaurant on the property. The food we ate at the restaurant had to be the very best we have ever eaten. My husband and I have visited many islands but this restaurant was the very best for us.
The staff was extremely friendly and offered fresh water daily in our rooms. The rooms in itself had the most amazing architecture I have stayed in plus very spacious. You can tell a lot of pride went in to this hotel. The Villablanca is close to the dive shop but if you have your exquipment there is an opportunity to do shore dives in front of the hotel.
Consider a trip to Cozumel. The island offers everything from diving, awesome Mexican food, activities for all ages, and mild temperatures year round. You cannot beat the prices this time of year. We had the opportunity to meet Jorge and dive with him. If you want an enjoyable, laid back dive trip, you have picked the right place. Tell Jorge hello from Ginger, Brian and Bradley.
