We would particularly like to welcome all of the new Freshers (of both the JCR and MCR) to the site. We hope you enjoy having a glimpse into our Club and hope to see you at some of our events and Taster Sessions, which we shall we be hosting in Freshers' Week. All members and associate members of Merton College are encouraged to join the Boat Club whether experienced oarsmen/women or new to the sport. Levels of commitment range from our 1st VIII's to those just looking for a lot of fun and great team spirit. Every Michaelmas term about 30 new novice rowers and coxes learn to row, with the majority enjoying it so much they go on to compete at higher levels. We enter several men's and women's boats into Oxford's major rowing events Summer Eights, Torpids, Christ Church and Oriel Regattas and the Isis Winter League. We also travel to external regattas, such as the Cambridge Winter Head and Bedford and are currently planning training camps for the top squads.
We have created an improved News and Results section to make following the club easier - whether you want up to date training information, the latest regatta results or to look at photos or videos of our boats in action, go there now.
Our Current Members now have their own area to view the club calendar, check outing times and conditions and find other useful information.
