1 . How do Primary School kids order their lunch?
Your childs money order needs to come to school in a sealed envelope. Loose money falls out and can go missing and then a bill comes home for you ..!
On the front of the envelope print your childs name, room number, the order and the prices, and then a final total. If your child is gluten free, please make this very obvious!
PLEASE sign the envelope. This lets us know youre happy with your child having a bought lunch, and helps discourage children spending money they have found or buying lunches with their pocket money without your knowledge ..
When your child gets to school, they will then copy out whats on their envelope onto a lunch bag, which then comes down to the canteen in class boxes. At lunchtime, these boxes are then collected and delivered back to each classroom.
2 . Do you give change?
Sadly, no. Giving change gets very messy, and the potential for you never to see it again is very high! Usually we will make up the order to the money you give us in marshmallows, or other small items. If the amount is more than a dollar or two tho, it is possible for you to come collect the change from Student Services.
3 . What about cheques, are they okay?
Absolutely. Just make them payable to Middleton Grange School.
4 . I have several children ordering lunch today - can I combine the total?
Sure - just note on each childs envelope who has the money.
5 . What about my kids in Middle School and Senior College?
Their process is a little different, but the short answer is yes. We are open to all Year 7-13's at interval and lunch, offering a range of food on a first-come, first-served basis. If they want to ensure they dont miss out, they need to either write it out on a piece of paper, along with name and class and pop it in the box outside G102 before school OR hand it in to us personally at the canteen at interval. Food is then paid for at the time they pick it up - prank ordering will be viewed very dimly, however!
6. What about vegetarian? Do you do that?
Well .. yes and no. There are certainly options on our menu that are vegetarian, but we arent going to provide a whole dedicated menu at this stage. Vegan options are pretty slim, the salad and potato potentially could be if especially requested ..
7. Do you have eftpos yet?
YES!! Hurrah!
Not that this helps for Primary orders, but for Middle School and Senior College, we are trialling it in 2012.
