Lowry resides in Los Angeles now, and has served as a cable talk show host and a published freelance press writer, including writing monthly features for urban entertainment magazines.
Melanie E. Lowry revealed the level of her talent at a very young age. Growing up in Los Angeles, California, Melanie is the product of two Central American immigrants in the 1960s. Melanies father was one of the first people of color to have a one-man art show in Beverly Hills, California. Melanie began her own exploration of the arts at the age of nine. She would sketch on anything she could find from the back of old discarded wallpaper to a dusty abandoned car. Melanie said she always felt the influence of a creative muse in her. She just did not know at the time, it was the operation of the Creator through the Holy Spirit. The evidence was being mapped out to outline her destiny. Attending Catholic schools from the age of five to sixteen, she found herself writing poems about the inspirations of life. It was now the late 1970s and California was the place to realize your dreams. However, fate would have it that Melanie would fall in love, become a wife, then a mother, putting her dreams on hold and living vicariously through everyone else.
Melanie is the middle child of five boys. Ms. Lowry was taught at a tender age if you wanted something in life, you may have to fight for it. Not giving up on her aspirations to do great things in the world, she continued to draw and paint portraits from home while raising her two boys. Living in L.A. provided great opportunities, and Melanie was introduced to a television producer that recognized her many talents. Melanie was chosen among many to be the Host of a cable talk show in the 1990s In Your Interest community cable talk show. She found herself writing a lot of the commentary proving she may have a knack for story telling. Melanie has extensive experience in multi-media productions successfully producing promotional and public relations campaigns and videos.
Her children now in college and her marriage regretfully dissolved, Melanie E. Lowry has written her first book Remember the Heights. She is a published writer, an excellent communicator, both written and oral. Including writing monthly features for an urban entertainment magazine called UPSCALE in Atlanta, Ga. Melanie served as marketing consultant to Disney Direct Inc. in the United Kingdom, reinventing a product line for mail order catalogs changing the way consumers viewed Disney products. Able to manage multiple projects from conception to completion, Melanie is highly organized and attentive to details. She has found her center in God the Father through the teachings of Jesus Christ. Melanies dreams are now her reality.
