MCStudio is a small R&D company since 2007, focused in electronic and electromechanic designs. It's located in Castelfranco Emilia, between Bologna and Modena, in the northern Italy.

Cansat is a student rocketry competition that challenges student groups to design, build and launch a rocket payload. It was first organized by different associations in the USA, some years ago, and then was diffused in several European countries.
The payload has to fulfill a number of functions including recording and transmitting altitude, temperature and battery information to a ground station, and optionally taking photographs of itself during descent or recording the force of impact on the ground. A number of firm cost, size, and weight requirements are put in place to add an extra level of challenge to the competition.
MCStudio supported the Italian team Liceo Tassoni - Modena at the ESA CanSAT competition for high schools held on August 2010, in Andenes, Norway . Since that amazing experience, MCStudio decided to develop a new modular CanSAT payload platform together with the Tassoni's guys, and making it available to the market: the MCStudio CanSAT.
Our goal was developing a system, compatible with the CanSAT harsh operating environment, with some valuable features under the educational point of view: it had to be simple, but powerful; complete, but extremly flexible and customizable, in order to support completely new and different experiments; Precise, repeatable, but cheap, in order to fit the always lower schools and universities budgets... a real challenge! And we got it!.
We provided technical support to all teams using our new CanSAT boards, at the first CanSAT Italy competition. See launch and experiment result days flyers...
