WHO IS HERMAN CAIN?
Herman Cain is one of the greatest hopes we have to restore the United States to the foundational principles that made our nation great.
As Herman has said many times, his belief in God, belief in himself, and belief in the greatest country in the world came from his parents, who shared impoverished backgrounds but overcame their obstacles with hard work and faith.
After achieving his undergraduate degree in mathematics from Morehouse College, Herman looked to gain his master's in computer science in 1967 while he worked as a mathematician for the U.S. Navy. He then became involved with The Coca-Cola Company as a business analyst.
Herman joined The Pillsbury Company in 1977, working his way to Vice President of Corporate Systems and Services. While his success was impressive by any standards, Herman looked to continue pushing the envelope. He resigned his position and moved into Pillsbury's restaurant division with Burger King, beginning at the bottom, making hamburgers, and working his way through the system. Within nine months, he was running 400 restaurants in the company's Philadelphia region, which became one of the most successful in the country.
His success with Burger King prompted Pillsbury to appoint him president of Godfather's Pizza to solve that division's financial woes. Within 14 months, Herman had returned Godfather's to profitable status. He has served on the Board of Directors of the National Restaurant Association, and, in 1996, he was named the president and CEO of that organization. Herman has also served on the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, as well as many other corporations and consulting groups.
Currently, Herman can be heard weeknights on his radio program, "The Herman Cain Show," on Atlanta's 750 WSB AM and 95.5 FM from 7:00PM - 10:00PM.
