AMP MUSIC CD's
AMP Music was formed in 1985 by music journalist Mark Jenkins,
and remains one of the few UK labels specialising in synthesizer,
progressive rock, jazz-rock fusion and ambient electronic music.
In recent years the label has also released CD albums in the minimalist, world pop
and techno dance arenas, and has started to offer sales by digital download.
The early LP's and later CD titles up to and including the "Music for the 3rd Millennium" trilogy, released beginning in 1999, showcased much of the established electronic music talent from the UK and Europe, including Spain's MICHEL HUYGEN (Neuronium), the UK 's STEVE JOLLIFFE (ex- Tangerine Dream) and French synthesist RICHARD PINHAS (Heldon). The "Music for the 3rd Millennium" series itself comprised rare and unreleased tracks personally submitted to Mark Jenkins by legendary figures including ISAO TOMITA ("Snowflakes Are Dancing"), KARL BARTOS (Kraftwerk), NICK RHODES (Duran Duran), KEITH EMERSON (ELP) and many others.
In the current millennium the label has continued to release CD's including collaborative releases with the USA,
has made music available by download through iTunes and other outlets, and has created exclusive short-run CD releases, notably for the concert events of UK electronic music legends White Noise, in which Mark Jenkins currently performs along with founder member David Vorhaus.
CD's are available through select distributors in various countries throughout the world, and directly by mail order from this site using various payment methods including Google Checkout.
Currently commissions for custom music and compilations are being accepted.
