PAST EVENTS
Jess Rae & Jenny Jiang, Melbourne Op Shop Tours
When: 8am - 9am, Tuesday 20 October 2009
Where: Es-X Cafe, Shop 1/121 Exhibition St
Melbourne Op Shop Tours was born in 2008, the stylish, sassy and sustainable love-child of Jessica Rae, Jenny Jiang and Richmond Glasglow.
While Jessica and Jenny have been rebelling against the uniform grey walls of law school with op shop outfits for years, the motivation to take their hobby to market came in the form of a couple of university competitions and the business expertise of their good friend, Richmond.
Recognising that everyone wants to look chic in stylish outfits, deck out their place in unique and period homewares, shop sustainably, support charities and guard their hip pocket from the unrelenting mark-ups in retail stores, they aim to help you find the best op shops around and discover the many hidden treasures within.
Michelle Matthews, Deck of Secrets
When: 8am - 9am, Tuesday 15 September 2009
Where: Lindt Cafe, 271 Collins St

More recently Michelle teamed up with Shaun Ervine, a local developer who taught himself the iPhone app language faster than most. Together they developed and released DRINK. Melbourne the iPhone app version of Bar Secrets Melbourne within the first five months of the app store opening putting it in the first 10,000 apps to come online. Apple has worked with Deck of Secrets to promote the iPhone through the apps and as such they have appeared in print and TV commercials.
