Quest for Jackie Chan! The Movie is the collaborative effort of D.I.Y + with others, artists, filmmakers, creatives that are all about community empowerment in getting grassroots storytelling - out and about. We are always open for a helping hand, here and there and believe that the filmmaking experience is just as important as the outcome Plus, I can't wait for it to come out the to have the biggest list of credits that go with it! This space will be updated as time passes, in the meantime, here are the Official Steering Committee Members: Adrian Castro, 35, Sydney-based managing director of Fideo Films. Castro has strong skills in Visual effects and graphics design. He has made an accolade of short films of grindhouse genre and is always inspiring other people to push the boundaries of storytelling. Vinh Nguyen, 22, Bankstown-based filmmaker and freelance graphic designer. A UTS Visual Communications graduate, he has directed and animated short films for personal and commercial clients. Vinh has broad experience with various companies, working with Fairfield Council, ICE, PYT and Metroscreen. . Marie Setiawan, 25, Fairfield-based filmmaker, writer and director, Setiawan is currently studying film at the Sydney International Film School. She has recently finished her debute short film Fairytales that was screened at Parramatta Riverside Theatre. Thuy Ng, 22, Granville-based film student, currently studying film and television production, Ng is a devoted supporter of the local film community in Western Sydney - a growing, dynamic and inspiring movement. Her film Family Papers was screened at the 2009 South East Asia: Text Ritual & Performance Conference in California. Stephanie In, 19, Liverpool-based visual artist, illustrator and graphics designer, In is currently exhibiting her works at the 2011 Hip Hop Projections 6 as a part of her works with Optic Stories, trained by Canadian-Iraqi visual artist Sundus Abdul Hadi. Quan Tran, 35, Liverpool-based managing director of Dragon Vision Productions. Quan has recently left the field of real estate and pursue his love of filmmaking and photography.

UPDATE | December 2010Maria Tran takes "Quest" to Hong Kong!Guerrilla Sydney-based filmmaker Maria Tran has landed in Hong Kong with her reality documentary Quest for Jackie Chan! to engage and interact with budding filmmakers who want to join in the fun. Amongst that, she has a host line up of interviews with distinguish Hong Kong action industry heavyweights.Quest for Jackie Chan! is Australia's first transmedia explosion that follows the trials and tribulations of young filmmaker Maria Tran, who after finishing grassroot Kung Fu movie Maximum Choppage: Round 2 and ABC/ TV micro-series Downtown Rumble, her next project is in one of global collaboration and a response to the explosion of young filmmakers and their DIY guerrilla attitude of You Tube and Facebook generation.After launching in Sydney featuring special guest, Hong Kong Action director Antony Szeto (directed Jackie Chan produced film "Wushu"), and nation trotting around Australia (Brisbane, Darwin, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne & Canberra). In early January she will be based at Ace Studios, Guangzhou under the guidance of Antony Szeto and Henry Luk as they are in production for sci-fi action flick "Vela 734".
