My name is Maria Lockard, I'm 18 years young, and I love to take pictures. Am I a photographer?
When do you become a photographer? When you get a degree in it? When you have an expensive camera? When you get that first paying job?
Besides taking portraits of people, I don't want to just take pictures, I want it to be art.
I'm now actually seeing myself more and more in my photos. Photography has shown me bits of who I am. In every photo, whether I think it describes me or not, seems to clearly represent...
Me.
And when you love taking pictures, nothing else matters but the final product, and the experience, and practice, and that indescribable feeling you get when you've captured something wonderful. I hear some people live for that feeling.
But I thank God for giving me this love and passion and I pray I use it for His glory.
