Garessio is the ideal location from which to explore the Southern Piedmonte and Ligurian provinces of Italy. The Ermitage di Garessio is just one of our properties in Garessio. As a service to our guests, we offer a central reception area in a renovated 11th century trattoria where one can have coffee, teas or wine, read and get touring information. Below the reception is our wine cellar where guests can take part in wine tastings. We often run special events during the summer.

Winery Tours
Garessio is located between two wine regions, the Langhe, famous for the Barolo and Dolcetto wines and the Ligurian wine region. Both of these areas have many wineries to visit and are within a forty minute drive from Garessio.
Hiking
Just outside your doorstep are the Ligurian Alps. There are numerous trails into the mountains that will take you into high alpine terrain. Trails vary from gentle and flat to very difficult.
Biking and Mountain Biking
The road biking and mountain biking are both excellent around Garessio. There is little traffic on the roads surrounding the village so the biking is comfortable and safe.
Beach
The Italian Riviera is a forty minute drive from Garessio over the San Bernardo pass. Nice and Monaco are a one and half hour drive by car.
Spas
There are several spas within an hours drive of Garessio. Lurisia Spa is located in the small village of Lurisia, just over the hills from Garessio. They offer the famous Lurisia water treatments, hot baths, thermal caves, and the traditional spa treatments such as wraps, massage, reflexology etc. The Terme di Vinadio Spa offers hot thermal baths, an outdoor natural hot spring pool, hot mud treatments and massage, facials etc. They are located in Vinadio about one hour from Garessio.
