Photography has always been a huge part of my life. I learned the skill from my dad and have followed in his footsteps as a member of the Livonia Camera Club for years. I have spent my life battling a rare bone disease called multiple hereditary exostoses and have had over twenty surgeries since I was very small. I struggled the most in my late teen years and ended up missing out on most of high school, but I still managed to graduate National Honor Society. I have always been determined not to let my disease keep me from having a chance at a good life. Photography has been a way for me to capture all the beautiful moments I have been blessed to experience.
Over the past year, I have gotten a lot of my strength back and have been totally thrilled to make the absolute best of it. I finished up my Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts at Schoolcraft College and am now pursuing a second Associate's in Graphic Design. I have always loved playing around with Adobe Photoshop to make art, so I decided to learn as much as I can about graphic design. I even joined the school newspaper The Schoolcraft Connection as a staff photographer last fall and will be the official Photo Editor starting in August. This year I finally have some great opportunities to further my skills in photography and graphic design as well. I am always up for freelance jobs and put everything I have into doing my best work possible. I have even started to learn as much as I can about wedding and portrait photography. I am trying to take in as much experience as I can so that I can finally go somewhere with my photography - and I can't wait to see where I end up.
