What is the Brookdale Home and School Association?
The Brookdale Home and School Association is made up of parent volunteers who fundraise for equipment, items for the classrooms, library, etc. and organize information nights and family activities through out the year.
Currently, monthly meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm along with School Council.
A Brookdale Home and School family membership ($15.00 per school year) not only allows you to vote on issues as such as the directions of the funds etc. at Brookdale but you also become a member of the Ontario Federation of Home and School Associations (OFSHA). This allows your voice to be heard on any governmental concerns/issues that may arise which may impact your community and family. Concerns such as seatbelts on buses, protection of anaphylactic students, and bicycle helmet safety to name a few.

The Ontario Federation of Home and School Association, a province-wide network of dedicated members, is committed to informed and proactive involvement in our homes, our schools and our communities, to obtain the "Best for Each Student".
Our Mandate
OFHSA speak for members across Ontario. Input and concerns are communicated by individual Home & School associations, Home and School councils and Home and School regions to the board of directors for action.
Resolutions are presented by local members at the annual meeting of the federation. Upon discussion and adoption, these resolutions become OFSHA policy. Federation responses represent the collective voice of members.
Aims & Objectives
•To obtain the best for each child according tot his or her physical, mental, social and spiritual needs.
•To give parents an understanding of schools.
•To be informed, constructive partners with educators.
•To assist in interpreting education in all its aspects to the public.
•To support public education.
•To promote the welfare of children and youth
•To promote the care and protection of children.
•To confer and co-operate with the organizations which concern themselves with the care and training children and youth.
