Salvation isn't all there is
The kingdom of God already exists in heaven. Our job as believers is to bring His kingdom into our world. Eternal life isn't the only hope of faith... Jesus died to give us abundant life as well.
Getting out of Egypt isn't enough
From the first step out of Egypt, the promised land was the focus. Jesus is named after Joshua, not Moses. Too many believers never make the transition from a freed slave into a soldier... and so they complain themselves to death in the desert.
The promised land is waiting
Living Hope exists to empower people to be transformed into the image of Jesus so God can transform their world into the promised land He created them for. How do we do this? Discipleship. We take the great commission seriously. From new believers to the deepest saints, our process is to enable people to build a fire of faith that will bring warmth and power to our daily lives. Enjoy your tour...

If you came looking for 'vision! values! mission statement!' ...sorry. We don't even have a 'frequent tithers rewards card.' But we do have a few guiding principals: 1. God FirstBefore we ask God to bless us, we need to bless Him first. Worship in singing magnifies God's power and minimizes life's problems. After a time of vulnerable worship our hearts are softened to receive the word from the message. 2. Reach by 12 and we won't have to rescue at 21. Students aren't the church of the future. they are the church NOW. We focus on our tweens so we don't lose our teens. We don't believe that our teens have to become prodigals... we think they can get lost in the house of God... like Jesus. 3. Spirit and Truth... not Spirit or Truth. God seeks balanced worshippers. Worship in Truth informs our mind. Worship in Spirit transforms our soul. Proper proportions produce power. 4. No prayer, no power. Prayer guides, empowers and infuses everything we do... and don't do. 5. Lead from your limp.Every believer is destined to reclaim their world for His kingdom. Your points of life-pain will become your platform for life-power. Never trust a Christian without a limp. 6. Service is spiritual oxygen. We recieve from God proportionate to what we give to others. The Holy Spirit is manifest in our world when we wash feet. If you can't point to places of kingdom sacrifice... you don't have any seeds planted for God to bless.

Below is an explanation of what it means to be a "Fousquare" church and further down is a doctrinal statement. The name "Foursquare" just means "balanced." If a chair is stable to sit on, they would say it was "foursquare." The denomination was born out of an unusual move of God during the first quarter of the twentieth century. the name comes from our founder, Aimee Semple McPherson, who received a vision of Ezekiel's four-fold revelation. While Foursquare is a denomination, it has always been interdenominational in flavor. Each pastor is empowered to stylistically do whatever it takes to reach their neighborhood. One of Aimee's goals was to make the denomination "middle of the road." To her this meant avoiding high-emotion fanaticism on one side, dead formalism on the other AND STILL being in the flow of society. Below is taken from the Foursquare web site. We believe in Jesus Christ as: THE SAVIOR "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God... But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ." (Ephesians 2:8, 13) THE HEALER "He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed." (1 Peter 2:24) THE BAPTIZER WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT "John answered them all, 'I baptize you with water. But One more powerful than I will come, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.'" (Luke 3:16) THE SOON COMING KING"'Men of Galilee,' they said, 'why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into Heaven.'" (Acts 1:11)The name is based on the truth that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Gospel that faces squarely in every direction. For further information about the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel see www.foursquare.org. Doctrine The Foursquare Declaration of Faith lays out the basic doctrine of The Foursquare Church and was drafted by Foursquare founder Aimee Semple McPherson. Here's an abbreviated version: The Holy ScripturesWe believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God: true, immutable, steadfast, and unchangeable (2 Timothy 3:16, 17).The Eternal GodheadWe believe that God is triune: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; the Three are coexistent, coeternal, and equal in divine perfection (Matthew 3:16-17; John 14:16, 26; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).The Fall of ManWe believe that man, created in the image of God, by voluntary disobedience fell into the depths of sin and iniquity, bequeathing sin's nature and consequences to all mankind, with their accompanying loss of intended meaning and purpose (Genesis 1:27; Romans 5:12).The Plan of RedemptionWe believe that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us, took our place, and with His life's blood purchased the pardon for all who believe in Him (John 3:16; Titus 2:14). Salvation Through GraceWe believe that salvation is wholly through grace; that no human righteousness or merit can contribute to our receiving God's love and favor (Ephesians 2:8).Repentance and AcceptanceWe believe that, upon sincere repentance and a whole-hearted acceptance of Christ, we are justified before God through Jesus' sacrificial death (Romans 10:6-10; 1 John 1:9).The New BirthWe believe that the change that takes place in people at conversion is a very real one; that having received righteousness in Christ and having received of His Spirit, people will have new desires, interests, and pursuits in life (2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:20).Daily Christian LifeWe believe that it is the will of God that those who have been born again grow in sanctification, become partakers of His holiness, and daily grow stronger in the faith, power, prayer, love, and service (2 Corinthians 7:1). Water Baptism and the Lord's SupperWe believe that being baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is an essential response to Jesus' command, testifying to His lordship as Christ and King (Romans 6:4). We believe in observing the Lord's Supper, receiving the broken bread and the fruit of the vine with joy and faith as we partake anew of the life and triumph of Christ's Cross (1 Corinthians 11:24-26)Baptism in the Holy SpiritWe believe that the baptism in the Holy Spirit empowers believers to exalt Jesus, to live lives of holiness, and to be witnesses of God's saving grace; we expect the Spirit's incoming to be after the same manner as that in which He came upon believers in the days of the Early Church (Acts 1:5, 8; 2:4).The Spirit-Filled LifeWe believe that it is the will of God that believers walk in the Spirit moment by moment, serving the Lord and living lives of patience, love, truth, sincerity, and prayer (Ephesians 4:30-32; Galatians 5:16, 25).The Gifts and Fruit of the SpiritWe believe that the Holy Spirit bestows enabling ministry gifts upon believers, and that these gifts will build up the Body of Christ through edification and evangelism (1 Corinthians 12:1-11); as evidence of a Spirit-filled life, believers should show spiritual "fruit": love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance (Galatians 5:22-25).ModerationWe believe a Christians' moderation should be obvious to others and that relationship with Jesus should never lead people into extremes of fanaticism; their lives should model that of Christ in uprightness, balance, humility, and self-sacrifice (Colossians 3:12, 13; Philippians 4:5).Divine HealingWe believe that divine healing is the power of Jesus Christ to heal the sick in answer to the prayer of faith; He, who does not change, is still willing and able to heal the body, as well as the soul and spirit in answer to faith (Mark 16: 17, 18; James 5:14-16).The Second Coming of Christ We believe that the second coming of Christ is personal and imminent; the certainty of His coming and the fact that no man knows the hour of His coming prompt our evangelistic efforts; that the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven, the dead in Christ shall rise, and the redeemed will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air (Matthew 24:36, 42, 44; 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17).Church Relationship We believe that it is our sacred duty to identify ourselves with a congregation of believers with whom we can worship God, observe the ordinances of Christ, exhort and support one another, labor for the salvation of others, and work together to advance the Lord's Kingdom (Acts 16:5; Hebrews 10:24).Civil Government We believe that civil government is by divine appointment and that civil laws should be upheld at all times except in things opposed to the will of God (Acts 4: 18-20; Romans 13:1-5).Judgement We believe that all shall stand before the judgment seat of Christ: the redeemed to be delivered unto everlasting life, and the unrepentant unto everlasting punishment (Revelation 20:11, 12; 2 Corinthians 5:10).Heaven We believe that heaven is the glorious habitation of the living God and the eternal home of born-again believers (John 14:2; Revelation 7:15-17).Hell We believe that hell is a place of darkness, deepest sorrow, and unquenchable fire, which was not prepared for man but for the devil and his angels; yet it will become the place of eternal separation from God for all who reject Christ as Savior (Matthew 13: 41, 42; Revelation 20:10, 15). Evangelism We believe that soul winning is the one big business of the Church on earth, and that every hindrance to worldwide evangelism should be removed (James 5:20; Mark 16:15).Tithing and OfferingsWe believe that tithing and offerings are ordained of God to sustain His ministry, spread the Gospel, and release personal blessing (Malachi 3:10; 1 Corinthians 16: 1, 2).www.foursquare.org.

At Living Hope we...
Building your faith is as easy as building a fire... keep the elements in balance and let the chain reaction do its thing. At Living Hope, we break discipleship into the three elements needed to grow. Reach up- God in me. The fuel to your faith is your private devotional life with God. This is why we compare devotions to the wood or fuel in a fire. At Living Hope, we structure sermons to reflect what a daily Bible study would look like. We also teach on private prayer at least 6 times a year and have some good articles on our 'stuff' page. Great article on S.O.A.P. journaling.Give out- God to you. The heat to your faith is the investment you make by serving other people for the kingdom. Just as heat transformes the fuel, so serving utilizes the truth God has told you in your private times. At Living Hope, we offer many different chances to impact other people. Grow together- God with us. Bottom line, a fire needs oxygen to start and sustain the fire. In our faith, we need other believers to worship with and be accountable to. Every time the church gets together from a Sunday Morning to a small accountability group, the life of Jesus is manifested leading us to grow into His image. Almost every day of the week we have something going on to give the oppertunity to fellowship. Remember, you must have all three elements to consistantly grow. The Chirstians that give Jesus a bad name are the ones that have 1 or 2 of the elements and stop at that. Lots of wood no heat makes for self-righteous angry believers. Plenty of heat with no fuel creates burn-out. Plenty of oxygen with no heat creates nice people who gather but never see anyone transformed.But...When we determine to stay balanced and worship in spirit AND truth... watch out. Because that's when we see His kingdom come and His will be done... people saved, friends delivered, marriages restored and... disciples made.
