I was born in Faro, in southern Portugal. I lived there until I was 18 and moved to Lisbon to attend University. Ive been living in Berlin since May 2009. I am a friendly, polite, tolerant and honest person who is open-minded to new ideas and influences. I have a curious character, therefore I am eager to learn new things and I am interested in the people around me. Im communicative and I like to involve others in projects and creative ideas.
The two big loves of my life are performative arts and cultural and mentalities history.
I started to do theater at the age of 15. My passion for theater is not only about performing on stage but to teach dramatic expression too. From 2002 until 2004 I was a teacher of dramatic arts, managing different classes, including children from 4 to 14 years. This was one of the best experiences that I had in life. Besides theater I love to dance and I also did some juggling workshops as well. Back in Lisbon, I have a Cabaret/Vaudeville group, Cais Sodre Cabaret! Now I'm starting my own group here with two other artists: Johanna Blackstone and Rachel von Hindman.
Society problems as discrimination field, gender equity, integration and racial problems has always interested me since I started to have some political and social consciousness. I think that this was the major reason that lead me to a History degree. I have a degree in Europenian General History, focused on research with an expertise in the area of Cultural History and Mentalities. During my degree years I did various research in the area of Womens History and Cultural and Mentalities History.
My Theater Classes:
These classes are for anyone. From 6 to 60. In Portuguese, Spanish or English. Individual or in a group. Only for children. Only for Women. For all. Your choice.
An activity of dramatic nature provides to its players more than an intellectual self-knowledge, a self-aware of its body.
Drama exercise seeks to motivate their players to learn how to know their emotions, develop self-esteem, individual relationship, resulting in great improvements in their social contacts.
These exercises are a great way to work various functions of our intellect and body.
You can apply the Latin expression mens sana in corpore sano as maximum of it. Together with other fun activities, such as dancing and juggling, enrich the development of a global learning.
Such activities should be seen as a benefit to self-discovery of each individual and their relationship with the environment in which it moves and not just with the ultimate to address only those who claim to be actors.
