Everyone can make a difference in protecting the environment.
Join us in room 207 after school every Wednesday!
The Eco-Action Club is for students who are dedicated to helping the environment. Students work to create a better environment through various activities like promoting recycling on
the Lewis S. Mills Campus, providing information through announcements, competing in the Connecticut State Envirothon, and working with the Burlington Land Trust and the Harwinton Recycling Committee.
The Envirothon Team is an afterschool club that prepares throughout the year for a rigorous field competition held in May. In addition to preparation at meetings, team members attend a series of workshops related to the four study areas tested, which are soils, aquatics, wildlife, and forestry. The 2010 current issue, or theme, is Water Planning, and each of the competition's study areas as well as the project will be related to the current issue. The winning team at the Connecticut Envirothon competition will go on to participate in the weeklong Canon Envirothon competition held at a college campus.
