Our Story So Far
Slik Cut was founded by Phil Byatt in 1998. He was joined two years later by an old colleague and friend of his, Peter Hamlyn. Both Phil and Pete had previously worked for the Ministry Of Defence for 21 years prior to Slik Cut and had been traditionally trained in the art of sail and canvas design and manufacture. So two years later they moved to the Eastern Hangar, Shaw Way in Mount Batten's Yacht Haven where Slik Cut is still calling home today. Things have moved on since then and the company has expanded. Our team has grown too. Phil and Pete are still running Product Design and Manufacture and they have now been joined by Richard and Amanda Shelmerdine who together head up Operations and Marketing with Sarah Bean completing the team as our part-time machinist. So with over 30 years experience to call on Slik Cut can help you with your requirements. We pride ourselves on friendly, knowledgeable advice and no job is too small or too complicated for us. We aspire to deliver a high standard of customer service and quality workmanship.
We are open from Monday to Friday 8am - 4.30pm and Saturdays from 9am - 1pm.
