Bio My Design philosophy
My work as an artist is one of continual struggle whereby I attempt to narrow the chasm between vision and reality. Following many years of teaching drawing and perspective and studying Japanese Ukiyo-e painting, my black and white paintings are an attempt to avoid perspectival presentation so that the paintings without illusions are more organic and multidimensional and thereby open to the viewer’s imagination. More recently, I have experimented with various unorthodox materials to include mylar and resin which has allowed me to follow a more organic process through the subconscious manipulation of ink, acrylic, oil and self-contained lighting.
