ONE TO ONE COUNSELLING
Who I am
About Me
Hello .. My name is Jim Bamber. I was a professional drummer and percussionist for over 30 years, acheiving a humanities degree along the way. While caring for my elderly parents. I gained an advanced diploma in counselling and psychotherapy in 2001. At first I worked with "addicts" in H.M.Prisons whilst volunterring with the Samaritans. My last employment was with South Cumbria Rape and Abuse Services. I set up a private practice in 2003 and have been counselling at home ever since.
What I do
What I do
I am a member of the B.A.C.P. ( British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy ) and as such, adhere to their organisations 'code of ethics' in all my counselling and therapy work. I am basically a " person-centred" therapaist ( the Carl Rogers model ) but also incorporate several other disiciplines ( see qualifications ) . . So my practice could be described as "intergrative" or "eclectic".
Charges
£40 per hourly session ( some concessions ) in blocks of 7 sessions, first session is free as an introduction. Also available for one to one or small group music therapy sessions.
