Larry has been photographing for more than 40 years. He enjoys making photographs of many different types of subjects, from architecure to zoology. He is especially interested in environmental portraiture. His new book "Portraits of China" is a compilation of portraits and observations of the Chinese culture and the many changes taking place in Chinese society (see web link below).

The Summer 2011 Photo Essay Workshop is now over. It was conducted at Beijing Normal University by PhotoWorkShop China. The workshop was a great experience for all of the participants. Larry was the lead instructor and Jook Leung, noted virtual reality panorama photographer was co-instructor.

The photographs on this page were made as a photojournalistic exploration of live jazz performance during the early 1970's. The photographs were made using a special film and processed for maximum light sensitivity. The interaction between musicians, audience and the physical environment were of great interest.
