My paintings, pastels and monotypes are saturated with rich, dense color. They describe narratives and use images that are part of our collective history. The work delves into our lives, dreams and memories.
Always figurative, with a distinct psychological edge, these paintings communicate the tenuous balance of conscious and unconscious, the conjunction of dreaming and waking states. Many of these works take place at twilight or dawn - the most ambiguous times of day, when even the sky is ambivalent about its intentions and the improbable becomes possible.
My most recent paintings examine the nature of adolescence, transitional states and the often mysterious spaces within relationships.

“"In her environment she symbolizes the basic elements
of life: earth, air, water; in her blazing palette she insinuates fire... Her floating figures, her dusky light, her sultry palette
and her long, sinuous strokes...
when they are burnished
with illusionistic sunlight,
they truly radiate."
