Welcome!
Thank you for visiting the Psi Chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma located at Marshall University! Please take a look around the site and get to know what our sorority is all about.
About us:
Sigma Sigma Sigma was founded on April 20, 1898 at Farmville Female College in Farmville, Virginia by Margaret Batten, Louise Davis, Martha Trent Featherston, Isabella Merrick, Sallie Michie, Elizabeth Watkins, Lucy Wright, and Lelia Scott .
Mission Statement: Sigma Sigma Sigma exists to establish among its members a perpetual bond of friendship, to develop strong womanly character, and to promote high standards of conduct.
Philanthropy : The Robbie Page Memorial Fund supports play therapy research. Play therapy is the process of helping children overcome serious emotional trauma resulting from a severe injury or disease. Tri-Sigma has funded two complete play therapy wards - one at the Children's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, and another at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In fact, the play therapy ward featured in the film "Patch Adams" was funded by Tri-Sigma.

"I join Sigma because in high school I didnt have very many close girl friends and I thought it was important to build those important relaitonships while I was in college. I like Sigma because it pushes me to do and try new things and opens my sphere of knowlege simply by just getting to know alot of different types of girls." - Kate Yeager, joined Fall '08
"I joined Sigma because I absolutely love the girls in it and I instantely felt comfortable there! My favorite part of Sigma is hanging out with my sisters because I know I have found true friends for life! - Sarah Hendrickson, joined Fall '09
"I chose Sigma over the other sororities on campus because the girls were just so down-to-earth and they seemed like they really WERE sisters, instead of just friends. Everybody's always there for you, and they do their best to make you feel welcome." - Lesley Cruickshank, joined Spring '10
One of the sayings of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sisters is the following: "Once a Tri Sigma, always a Tri Sigma". We pride ourselves on forming tight-knit bonds with a group of young women who we know we can rely on through thick and thin. You don't join Tri-Sigma for just four years, you join Tri-Sigma for a lifetime.
