Lexi de la Rosa's BioBorn December 2, 1987 in Upper Montclair, New Jersey and raised in the beautiful Miami, Florida, Lexi de la Rosa is of Dominican, Cuban, and Haitian decent and has a passion for performance. Indulging in the art of acting and modeling since she was a little girl, Lexi has always had a dream of being on the stage. Throughout her school years, she played numerous leading roles and performed in various fashion shows in both GA and FL. Lexi involved herself in theater programs all throughout school and as a teenager was casted as part of the youth anchor team By Kid’s For Kid’s on ABC’s Channel 10 in Miami, Florida. In college, where she earned a BA in International Affairs and a BS in Sociology, she made sure not only to exercise her brain but her talents as well. Joining a local modeling troupe, Lexi gained experience in Fashion and Leadership, directing several fashion shows and featuring as a lead model on multiple occasions. This experience led to modeling opportunities, not only in the school setting but in the Tallahassee community as well. While in Tallahassee, she’s had the pleasure of participating in the First Annual FSU Homecoming Fashion Show, FAMU's Homecoming Fashion Show 06-08, Demp Week Fashion Show 06-09, TJ's DJ's DJ Conference 08, UFW Tallahassee, becoming a model for Creole Connection Entertainment (CCE) and featuring in their 2011 “Hottest of the Hot” Calendar just to name a few. She was featured as Protege Magazine’s new Spotlight Model and Straight2TheStreetsMag.com’s 2011 Model of the Week and recently became an Official GGurl on GGurls.com. Even though she’s discovered a talent in modeling, she never forgets her passion for acting, Lexi strives to perfect and master her skill and pursue both talents with full force.Lexi de la Rosa is more than just brains and beauty, she’s ambitious and determined to make her dreams come true. She’s full of charisma and personality and lets her true character glow through her work. This diverse beauty plans on taking on Miami where she hopes to work with others who are just as motivated as she is to be successful in this industry. However, this is only the next step! Interview with Locksley Gayle of Mergeby.comLG. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? (Age, location, how did you get started)ME. I'm 23 years old, born on December 2nd, 1987. I was born in New Jersey, but raised in Miami, FL. I come from a diverse background of Dominican,Cuban, and Haitian decent. I love the art of performance! There's just something about being on stage or in front of the camera that I've had a passion for since I was a little girl. I took my first acting class when I was about 6 yrs old. In school, I participated in several plays and theatre programs. Although I did a few fashions shows as a girl, I didn't really start modeling until I got to college. During my years at FSU, I was given a lot of opportunities to explore modeling and I've been sticking to it ever since. My ultimate goal is to become an actress, modeling is just the beginning! LG. Five years from now, where do you see yourself?ME. In 5 years, I definitely see myself with a name in this business. I don't say that, like I'm going to be the next Elizabeth Taylor or Halle Berry...RIP Elizabeth Taylor.. because both of those women are icons. I see people knowing who Lexi de la Rosa is or at least have heard the name before, whether they just saw me in a magazine, a video, a movie, a community service event, I want to be someone active in the industry as well as the community. When I make it, I want to be able to give back to those less fortunate than myself, making opportunities available for those who need it. I know my name will be known in 5 years, but even then I'll be working on making my name bigger than it already is.LG. What Type of Model would you be considered?ME. I consider myself to be a classy and versatile model, because I have several looks I can pull off and I like to keep my work tasteful. I love what I do, so its hard to call it work sometimes, but I definitely take my work seriously so I'm very persistent and hard working.LG. What was your first Job?ME. The first job I ever had was at AMC Theatres South Dade 8 in Miami, FL.. We used to call it the "Ghetto 8" smh LG. How do you deal with disappointment?ME. I'm a very emotional person, so i'm not going to lie and say disappointment doesn't cause me to get into my feelings, however it all depends on the situation. In this industry, I don't let rejection disappoint me. I only see it as motivation to perfect my skills and talents for the next opportunity.LG. Talk about your strength and weakness in Modeling?ME. Fortunately, I've been blessed with a look that most people like, so I'm perfect for a pretty picture. I wasn't as blessed in the height department, so I'm not a good candidate for your typical runway fashion show. LG. What is a big pet peeve of yours from the industry?ME. It really bothers me that women get sneaky in this business, by doing personal favors just to make their way to the top. It makes it hard for those who stick to their values and work to earn their break in the industry. LG: Whats the secret of you always looking glamorous?ME. Facial Cleanser! lol Looking glamorous starts with a clear face. I hate even thinking about covering blemishes with foundation. It urks my nerves! LG: Can you tell us some of the challenges that you have come across?ME. I've had a few challenges I've had to deal with, such as not having reliable transportation..a BIG one for me, because if I could make it to a casting I'd be there, whether I had to take a ride out of town or in another part of the city, but not having a way there makes me miss out on opportunities I wouldn't otherwise. Money can also be a challenge, because it takes money to make money. Besides that, my only other challenge is eating right. while working out usually isn't a problem, I just LOVE food lol, especially my mom's cooking.LG. What are some of your greatest achievements thus far?ME. I've participated in several fashion shows in Tallahassee, FL, but I'm most proud of being one of the Show Directors for the 1st ever Annual Homecoming Fashion Show for Florida State University. Since then I've been featured in the "Hottest of the Hot" 2011 Calendar by Creole Connection Entertainment, featured as the Spotlight for Protege Magazine, and become an Official GGurl.LG. What is your ultimate goal for your career?ME. My first love is acting, but I know the two go hand in hand. My ultimate goal is to become a successful actress. LG. What was the craziest experience that youve had in the industry? (story)ME. Nothing too crazy yet, but I did have a photo shoot that was quite awkward only because the photographer was rambling on and on.. made me feel a little uncomfortable simply because I had no interest in his rambling =/LG. Question, all the guys want to know Are you single? ME. Nope, sorry fellas.. but I'm taken =)LG. What attracts you about a guy?ME. I'm really attracted to a sense of humor, a guy might win me over if he can really make me laugh! I'm sort of a goofball at times, so I enjoy a guy who can be silly with me, no sense in being uptight all the time.LG. Can you name a model everyone should look out for, other than you? ME. Stephany Perry is pretty HOT, you should definitely look out for her! LG. Tips for men who want to be your Mr. Right?ME. I couldn't tell you exactly how to be my Mr. Right, just cause I've already found him.. but I know a lot of women would agree that a guy who's loyal, honest, supportive, spontaneous, charming, and ambitious are just a few of the qualities that Mr. Right should possess. LG. Twitter or Facebook ? which do you prefer ME. Twitter, ALLDAY lol.. Facebook has gotten a little boring for me. Who knows, maybe there'll be a new social networking site that'll cause me to throw Twitter to the backburner one day *shrugs* LG. Where can our audience see more of you?ME.
