Mayumi Tsuchide, Japan/Germany:
I came back to Lengualuz again. This is my third time here. At this time my stay was very short, just one week. The teacher knows what my weak points are and gave me some tips which were very helpful for me. I like the atmosphere of the school very much. Hope to come back again (fourth time??) . August 2008

Tore Heier, Oslo, Norway:
Second time at Lengualuz, this time a complete egotrip. No family, a few friends (Karin and her daughter Berthe whom I shared some lessons with), but mostly by my self. This is the best way to practice what you learn. David was impressing me even more this time, with his knowledge, his sense of humour and his professional skills as a teacher.
I was very lucky to borrow a bicycle (road bike), and in Spanish my days may be summarized in this way: Clases por la manana, bici por la tarde y tapas por la noche. Could not have been better. I often went to the bar La Trocha, between the hotel and Plaza Arenal. Nice people, easy to find people to talk with.
I stayed for 9 days at Nuevo Hotel, just across the street to the school. This is a quite simple, but very nice place. Clean, run as a family business with very nice people. Centrally located, only a couple of hundred meters from Plaza Arenal.

Gill and Faye Ratliff, Cambridge, UK:
I liked: The calm and witty manner in which he conducted the lessons. David helped us both tremendously although we were learning at very different levels. His dry sense of humour really enlivened the lessons.
We really enjoyed the sessions although the early starts and the hard work needed, to keep up the pace of learning were tiring. It was great!
Tiril Grimeland, Oslo, Norway:
I really liked David's enthusiastic way of teaching me Spanish. It was a good combination of humour, grammar, discussions of interesting topics and music. I had a lot of fun, and learned very much during the three months I spent in Jerez. David's knowledge about almost everything and his way to make a variety in the lessons, made me look forward to each class.
There's so many things to do in and outside Jerez, and I was never bored. Karin took me to several places and small cities around Jerez, so I've experienced a whole lot! Beside bodegas, flamenco and horse-shows, it's a really good place to party. There are many places to join dancing-lessons, and it's easy to get in touch with the different schools. I could always get references from Karin, David or the Lee family for things to do!
I simply loved my accommodation in Jerez! I stayed in Casa Caballeros, and just like Karin, the family there took really good care of me. They were helpful in every possible way, and the apartments were absolutely fantastic.
I can't wait to get back to Jerez! This has been the best three months of my life!

Pamela Groves, Jamaica/USA:
David teacher: Okay, at the beginning he's kind of serious, almost grim. It's probably his professional look, but for some it can take getting used to. Coming from Jamaica I wanted to put a little heat in him... Having said that, he's a really good teacher. Very good and patient. Occasionally I suggested to him that he work on having a less expressive face when I was butchering the language horribly.. hard for a Latin I know... But this was infrequent... and of course, one wouldn't want a robot for a teacher! I liked the fact that he stayed in "character" i.e. spoke Spanish unless I begged for an English translation. I was a bit of an alternative student preferring to meet in a cafe rather than the classroom, and David took my lead and conducted the lessons according to my wishes. He was always completely flexible and clearly wanted me to be satisfied. As I come to the end of my course, I wish I could stay much, much longer as his student!
Casa Caballero is exquisite! I can't imagine a nicer place to stay in Jerez: a wonderful blend of old and new. The apartment was fully equipped, spotless and comfortable. Her two dogs are darling and will come for a visit if encouraged but will stay away if not.

Jenny och Martin Larrson, Gøteborg, Sverige:
David teacher and LenguaLuz: We are very happy with our teacher David, he is very competent and has a great sense of humour. We learned so much about Spain and Spanish culture. We liked the books and the disposition of the lessons and were practically fluent when we left.
LenguaLuz and the owner Karin gave us excellent service. We had private lessons every week and she was the babysitter for our daughter. She gave us a tour around town and made us feel very welcome! We can recommend Sanlúcar and the region to everyone that would like to learn Spanish. You get to practise a lot since there are few people that speak English.
Leisure time: The area is fantastic for activities. We were riding (if you like horses this is the place to be), kitesurfing or just walking on the endless beach. To sum up we can really recommend LenguaLuz and this region of Spain if you would like to learn Spanish. You will not be disappointed!
