Focus’s story began in 2004, when I was a Wits Fine Arts student, and landed my first freelance photographic job with Father Christmas in a shopping mall. It was love at first ‘click’ and thanks to encouragement from my husband (then boyfriend), Sean, ‘Focus Photography, by Leanne Russell’ was launched. We have since grown and evolved this small company to incorporate Sean’s full HD Video department, which, in early 2010, prompted the change of name to ‘Focus Photo Video’.
We are now a Johannesburg-based husband and wife team, specialising in, but not limited to, weddings and portraiture. Both of us are fully qualified in what we do, and have years of experience in the wedding scene. We also lead a crew of experienced freelancers who are trained in our style, to bring you the option of multiple-camera packages for more diverse and extensive footage.
We use only top of the range equipment, specifically chosen to perform well for those once-in-a-lifetime moments. And don’t forget the backup cameras, because accidents happen. A portable studio will also be on hand in case the weather doesn’t cooperate!
Our service and conduct is always personal, yet professional, both before and after the big day. Our style is unobtrusive, but comprehensive, and incorporates both posed and candid coverage. What’s the use of having beautiful memories of the two of you, but no decent coverage of your guests, and more importantly, the general fun and happenings of the day? We take pride in offering something that is truly special; a fun and funky, yet classy twist on photojournalism. We deliver quality and quantity.
