UVA vs. VA Tech Raffle Tickets
The band received a generous donation of 2 tickets to the UVA / VA TECH football game in Charlottesville on Nov 26, 2011.
They are two endzone seats together which usually sell for $70 each.
We are raffling off a chance to win these tickets. Each raffle ticket is $10 and is good to win both seats. The raffle will be held on Friday, November 4, 2011.
A Note about our need for a separate fundraising coordinator for trip specific fundraising........
It is obvious this year that a trip to Disney will be financially challenging for many families. Because of this, more fundraising opportunities for individuals and the band as a whole may be needed. This is above and beyond what our current fundraising chairperson can coordinate. We are looking for a person or people who are willing to help find and coordinate these fundraisers. If you feel like you can organize one or more fundraisers this winter and spring, please contact Mr. Lamb or Mr. Schlemmer as soon as possible.
Dear Parents and Students,
With last Friday night’s win over the Sherando Warriors, the LCHS Lions are continuing in VA State Playoffs. This Friday, 11/18, the Lions will take on the Indians of Powhatan at Powhatan High School at 7:30pm. The LCHS Marching Lions WILL be attending this game.
Students will be expected to be at the LCMS Band Room NO LATER than 5:15pm on Friday. Busses will leave at 5:30. Parents of High-Schoolers, please send you student with a snack/meal to eat between school and leaving for the game. As always, students will be allowed to go to the concession stands during the 3rd Quarter of the game. I would anticipate arrival back to LCMS around 10:30-11:00pm on Friday.
I will be in Norfolk this Thursday – Saturday for the VMEA Music Education conference and therefore will not be able to attend the game. Mike Schlemmer has graciously stepped in as “Interim Band Director” for me for the evening. Any parents who would be willing to attend the game as a chaperone as well would be greatly appreciated, as we still need 3-4. If you are able to be at the LCMS Band Room at 5:15pm on Friday, and will ride the busses to and from the away game with the students, please email me to let me know.
