Welcome to Georgia Area One

Georgia Area One is home to all the undergraduate chapters of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Incorporated within the state of Georgia, and our local alumnae chapter, Alpha Sigma. Our undergraduate chapters include -

Georgia Area One was created in the summer of 2007, once a part of Tennessee Area One and Florida Area One. The journey began on April 19, 2003, when Gamma Nu Chapter was founded. Being a solo chapter in the state of Georgia, the Gamma Nu Chapter became part of Florida Area One. More chapters in the Southeast Region emerged, which were overseen by either Florida Area One or Maryland Area One. Since these regions were too far for many of these chapters, the chapters within Tennessee and Georgia combined and formed Tennessee Area One. Gamma Nu Chapter remained the only Georgia chapter in the region until April 10, 2005, when the Gamma Omega, Delta Alpha, and Delta Beta Chapters were born. These three new chapters joined Tennessee Area One, along with the Gamma Beta, Gamma Gamma, and Delta Iota Chapters. The area kept growing enormously and rapidly. It was time for these two states to separate into their own regions, hence the birth of Georgia Area One in 2007. The Epsilon Alpha Chapter joined us on April 12, 2009, and the Zeta Beta Chapter completed the journey on its founding date on April 12, 2014.

Georgia Area One fully sponsors our national philanthropy - St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - by hosting events and fundraisers. The area is fully involved in our undergraduate chapters' endeavors by assigning local liaisons, often alumnae sisters, in order to fully support the chapters during their events and philanthropic, educational, and fundraising efforts.
