As the Presidents to these two illustrious chapters it is an honor and privilege to say that we are expecting great things in 2010. The Lambda Beta chapter at Valdosta State University has recently been reactivated and is experiencing great success for on campus events as well as a warm welcome back. The Kappa Psi Sigma Alumnae chapter is also receiving warm welcomes since their debut in October of 2008.

History
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated was organized on November 12, 1922 in Indianapolis, Indiana at Butler University by seven young African-American educators. These women sought to achieve 'Greater Service, Greater Progress' in their communities through the trinity of Sisterhood, Scholarship and Service.They were: Mary Lou Allison Little, Dorothy Hanley Whiteside, Vivian White Marbury, Nannie Mae Gahn Johnson, Hattie Mae Dulin Redford, Bessie M. Downey Martin and Cubena McClure.
For more than eighty years, the dynamic women of Sigma Gamma Rho have built and sustained a well-known and respected reputation for not only leading positive change, but also, and perhaps more importantly, inspiring others to dream more. From community soup kitchens to the halls of the US Congress, Sigma women can be found at the forefront exhibiting active, value-added and influential leadership and support, to ensure equality, forward progress and growth.

Lambda Beta Chapter
A social was held in the spring quarter of 1988 for a selected group of women with Sigma potential. The graduate chapter of Zeta Psi Sigma and the undergraduate chapter of Albany State College were in attendance at the social.
Lambda Beta Chapter was chartered on October 22, 1988. The seven charter members of the Lambda Beta chapter were: Lawanna Barron, Cassandra Lawson, Alfie Lingo, Jewel McKever, Karen Preston, Sharon Spencer and Consuelo Weaver.
From 1988 to now the members of Lambda Beta have sponsored many programs, community services and events at Valdosta State University. They have won many awards for service and academic excellence.
Kappa Psi Sigma Alumnae Chapter
Kappa Psi Sigma Chapter was chartered on October 28, 2008. The charter members of the Kappa Psi Sigma chapter were: Lawanna Barron, Sharon Daniels, Monique Harmon, Jaketa Jolly, Rozelle Slaymon and Joi Williams.
Since its chartering new members have joined: Patrice Dean, Trecinski Jones and Nicole Mitchell.
Kappa Psi Sigma serves Valdosta, GA and surrounding counties and cities in a 60 miles radius.
Kappa Psi Sigma has already completed serveral community services projects and events.
