I became a writer long before I became literate on my grandfather's rickety typewriter. Although I'd be risking a half-lie by saying I've improved since then, I must say I have enjoyed the journey. I've enjoyed the writing, the spelling mistakes, the stumbling and the learning. I'm forever learning to write. It's something that continually fascinates me.
I published my first stories in the Indian Comic Magazine Tinkle, and now occasionally write to newspapers like MysoreMail, published in correspondence with MysoreBlogPark blogging community. Otherwise, I've managed to be featured in Deccan Herald a couple of times.
A writeup about my writing was also featured in Students Magazine, June 2011 edition--a beautiful review by Roshni Khanna.
An incessant blogger, I maintain seperate blogging platforms for my poetry and prose.
Recently got addicted to photography.
I believe that pictures and prose are the strongest tools that one can employ to tell a story: and I believe storytelling is important especially when it can be used to move people and stir again, the sorts that will bring positive changes in the society. I'm here for a reason: I want to bring a good change. With this intention, I launched TellmeyourStories under Inklight Storytelling.
The needs of the society inspire me. Thier stories do. The Human Element does. NGO's and charitable organizations also motivate me. I believe in bringing a difference and creating a better world. I intend to use the skills of photojournalism to manifest my dream.
One step at a time.
One story at a time.
Tell me. Tell me your stories.
"I hope that at the end of the day, I could do you proud. Because this belongs to us. And I promised my mathematician that Id make those equations work. I think you know your physics right. For one thing, you forced me to pass my hardest physics course with an irritating fortitude.
Because cancers can go away and you'll heal. Because you gave me the best days of my life and always will. Because our story should endure......Because I love you, Papa."
There has been no other story that I've been wanting to tell more than this: It's the story of Papa.
My father was diagnosed with Peripheral T cell Lymphoma in September 2010. It's been an incredible journey since then. He is a man of courage, will-power and tremendous optimism...and that's only half the reason why I love him.
This is a documentation of our journey: the highs and lows, the lessons and chemo's. It's the story of us, of all we share. A story still in the making. A story of love, still evolving....and a story that will definitely lead us to the path of profound healing. This is the story that taught me what faith was all about. This is Papa's story.
Pray with me.

Recently, Ive been hearing so much that it would be an injustice not to talk about them: Stories of hope, of valor, of incredible courage and optimism. And they are not all mine. Some come from those everyday individuals that brush the mere surface of my personal experience. And yet, these spectacular stories of their struggles and ambitions penetrate deep into my consciousness to leave me spell-bound. They have moved me, deeply. They are true, incredible and wonderful. And I thought that it was time to bring it all to you, to establish a platform for their voices to reach more peopleto touch more lives, to inspire, to teach. And in the back of my heart, this is what I've always wanted to do. Ive always been a better storyteller than an orator. You see, there is a difference. I think its time to write,...... a little less selfishly. Because others, have stories too--stories just waiting to be told, if we only lend an ear.
I started the Tellmeyourstories series. Its everything Ive discussed above. Its about personal stories. Not just mine. It's yours, and theirs and mine. Its something that we can all relate to and understand: stories of endurance, tenacity, hope, and determination. Some, even aim to highlight those who have been shadowed by time, distress and age. I have been working hard to learn the art of photography to help augment my writing. Its been tough, but I hope it takes me somewhere in the end. I am still learning.
I hope you stay with me through this project
The 22nd of August, 2011 was a dream come true for me. My first book "An Amateur's Attempts" was launched at Jaaga: Creative Common Ground, Bangalore. This, after 5 years of consistant hardwork and valuable blogging experience. It was a day that taught me that persistance eventually comes to something. No other grand dream has bought me closer to who I truly aspire to be.
Because some dreams do come true.
The book has been sold out within two months of it's publication, and I am considering re-printing at this point while furiously working on my next book: a collection of poems named "The Golden Tendril"
The book "An Amateur's Attempts" still remains the most personal account of my growing up, and is very close to my heart. I thank SLV enterprises for making this possible for me and being those ladders as I roll the dice.
