The accommodation is set in the grounds of the Château L'Orangerie which was purchased by the present owners in 2007 after lying empty and neglected since the 1980's,
Probably first built as a hunting lodge for Parisians in 1859 it stands proud within pine trees on a small peninsula overlooking the valley below.
There are far reaching views across the surrounding countryside that can be explored on foot or by bicycle.
We invite you to enjoy the extensive gardens, which are filled with daffodils in the spring and geraniums in the summer.
Relax by the pool during the day, and in the evening enjoy a BBQ or a Pizza cooked in our own bread oven .
Château L'Orangerie is located in the countryside of the Deux-Sèvres in the Poitou-Charentes region of France. The region boasts the highest temperatures and number of sunshine hours after the Mediterranean.
Although the Château can be found deep in the countryside the Atlantic Coast is less than 90 minutes drive away.
We offer several Gîtes throughout the year for family holidays, two are within the Château grounds and another in the neighbouring department of the Vienne about 90 minutes away.
There are good services to the area with the ports of CALAIS 6.5 hrs drive and CAEN 3.5 hrs. RYANAIR also flies into Poitiers airport from several UK destinations and is only 45 minutes away and has car hire available.
