Artistic Directors
Zinnijah Guadalupe is Kucheza Ngomas 26 years young artistic director. She began dancing when she was 3. She learned traditional West Afrakan and West Indian Folk dance by attending dance classes for Muntu Dance Theater, Sundance Theater, and West Indian Folk Dance Company and their rehearsals with her mother Ruth. At a young age, she knew she wanted to have her own dance company and help people explore the world through dance. She says, "If they can follow directions, then they can dance!"
Leora Guadalupe is Kucheza Ngomas 22 years young assistant artistic director who has been dancing since she was 3. She loves to perform modern and West African dance. Leora dances because it makes her feel free. Leora would like to use her dance knowledge to teach others and spread dance around the world.
Hannjah Mandingo is 21 years young and is Kucheza Ngomas assistant artistic director. She has been dancing since she was 3. She enjoys dancing hip- hop most of all because it makes her feel free. She looks up to her older sister Zinnijah as her inspiration and plans to contribute to the expansion of the company. She also likes to play sports and be an animal whisperer.
