Laurent Schark HAS DEVELOPED A STRONG MUSICAN SPRITI SINCE HIS EARLIEST YEARS. He started practising
piano when he turned 5, as his main instrument, then followed DJ decks years after. His set is strongly influenced
by funk and disco (like Kool & The Gang, Stevie Wonder, and other famous references taken from the «Soul
Music»). Year after year, his Dj set has turned into a power packed live act, in which CDs, Vinyles, and hardware samplers,
keyboards are combined to create a unique performance, with a hardly stamped LS signature.
Laurent Schark is also a great radio Dj. He began his radio experience on national and local FM stations, back in 1998, mainly
in south of France. He now offers a weekly « Laurent Schark Selection » show broadcasted on many FM and Web stations all
over the world. In 2004, he started a brand new show on Radio Paté, called «PÂTÉ PARADISE». In less than a year, the show
is listened on the web, on a globe scale, by many thousands of fan listeners. This is a very uplifting show with a lot of fun,
and avant-garde live set, broadcasted from the London studios.
Laurent Schark is of course a gifted Producer Dj and talented remixer with a worldwide impact and recognition. He started
Djing in France, in the middle of the 90s, and his Production quickly followed the momentum. With his friend MidKnight
he made the GrooveMasters Dj Collective. This duet quickly gains people ears on radio first, then in clubs, especially with
their first hit remixes of Say Say Say (Michael Jackson & Paul McCartney) , and One Night In Bangkok (Murray Head), during
the 2005 Miami Winter Music Conference. The success was immediate, and many remixes started to invade radios and
clubs in France, and abroad.
En 2006, Laurent Schark gets his title into the Top 5 best French Remixers during the contest organized by the magazine
ONLY FOR DJS. Many projects raised since then, including his remix of So Magic (Dexter Connection Ultimate Sound Production)
broadcasted on international FM radios. The same year he founds his first recording company with his dedicated
friend MidKnight (EVOLUSOUND RECORDS), and starts his album project Move On, released end of the year with 3 singles.
He gave birth to a second label in 2008, with his partners Frank Savannah, and Stone Willis,
DOMINIUM REC ORDINGS, In August, he produced a 10-track CD (Laurent Schark remixes, part of the double CD the Plan),
published by Night Dance Records, and a single with Felko famous lead singer of Gibson Brothers.
LATE 2008, THE TALENT OF LAURENT SCHARK IS OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZED AND AWARDED DURING THE MMA MUSIC
AWARDS, WITH HIS SINGLE CHEMISTRY FEATURING JODIE COOPER (BEST PERFORMANCE ACT 2008).
His remixer talent is confirmed with his remixes of Keep on Rising (Ian Carey), or Heard It All Before (Soul Avengerz),
and Laurent is now regularly contacted by Dj and labels across Europe and North America. His fantastic
collaborations with famous singers including Carol Jiani, Jodie Cooper, Jeri Lee, The Flirtations,
Joanna Rays, Evelyn Thomas, are real finger licking pleasure.
Theres no doubt regarding the Laurent Schark touch that youll notice in his music, remixes, and dj sets, on the House
Music scene. His new album project « GET INTO MY LIFE » the first single release of which is planned for Winter
2011, ans is very expected.
