Operation and Authority
Countryside Christian School is a ministry of the Countryside Christian Church. The school is administered by the elders under the authority of Countryside Christian Church. CCS is a member of the
Association of Christian Schools International and is a Church Exempt School registered with the
Maryland State Department of Education.
Statement of Purpose
Countryside Christian School was founded to provide children a traditional Bible-based education that provides a challenging, yet attainable, academic environment, a knowledge of God, an understanding of the Christian way of life, and an appreciation of the ideals and principles on which our country was founded.
Vision
With a pledge of $700 and trust in the Lord, Countryside Christian School began implementing its Christian education vision in 1974. Because of the founders vision of growth, today we have facilities capable of supporting 300 students. As we look to the future, we plan to increase our capacity to 400 students. In keeping with these goals, the school board made an important decision in 2005 to add grades 9 through 12 to our program.
Curriculum
At Countryside Christian School, we use traditional Christian Educational Materials developed by A Beka Book. These textbooks, teaching aids, and curricula have been developed and refined over a period of 50 years in the classrooms of Pensacola Christian Academy on the grounds of Pensacola Christian College. Christian schools throughout the nation recognize that A Beka Book sets the standard of excellence in the publishing of materials for Christian schools.
A Beka Book researchers and writers do primary research in every subject from God's point of view. Their publications are built on the firm foundation of Spiritual truth and are written by dedicated and talented Christian scholars who are well grounded in the practical aspects of classroom teaching. We have been using A Beka Book materials since 1974.
