In addition, the Indiana Department of Education reports that 91% of children in school are enrolled at public school. However, also according to their website, their are zero non- public schools located in rural Indiana. Thus, only public schools will be targeted. Factoring in an average rural family size of 3.08 persons, as well as the probability of a family having a child that is in the desired grade range, the potential target market, including all family members, is 829,522. This is 46.7% of the total number of people living in a rural geographic area.
