My Insight-
During a persons life, they are lucky if they can find their true passion. I like to think that I am one of those lucky people. A couple years ago I discovered my passion for photography on a random, spur of the moment 'event' if you will. On this day, I was a the beach with my aunt and her family. For some reason I was angry or upset. So I stepped out the door to take a walk on the beach and calm down. This just happened to be right after a storm. As I walked along the beach, the waves were still crashing up against the rocks from the fierce wind. If you've ever walked somewhere after a storm you'll know... that the sky kind of opens up. It's an amazingly beautiful sight, it's also a feeling I can't explain... but all the bad things that are circling around in your mind go away. It's exceptionally effective on the beach; you feel the mist from the ocean, you hear the crashing waves and the birds chirping, you smell the saltiness of the water. As the sun peaked out of the clouds, I saw a rainbow. That did it for me, It's incomprehensible how beautiful and calming the beach can be. This experience is what made me think, "what if I could capture some of this in a picture to share with other people?" On my makeshift little camera phone, I started snapping pictures of the waves crashing on the rocks with the rainbow behind it, the birds walking on the beach, the inside out umbrellas, knocked over lifeguard chairs, etc. Once I went back to the beach house, I showed my Aunt (who is a photographer herself) some of the pictures I took. They weren't the best quality because they were taken off of my phone, but she told me that I have talent and a 'photographer's eye' for things. I've been taking pictures since then, in attempts to share the beauty of the world with others as I see it. That's the thing about photography though, you see things in completely different ways as others so possibilities are endless.
