First of all apologies for not updating this section for almost a year!! How time flies. There's lots going on so here we go!
First of all, I've updated the gig guide. There's a few different bits and bobs on there. A couple of duo gigs with Gunner Gunstone (Heavy Weather keyboard player) and a couple with Chuck Micallef. Chuck is a Canadian singer/songwriter now living over here. A good gig to practice my country chops.
There's a fair few JLS gigs in. For those of you who don't know, JLS stands for J im Kirkpatrick, L es Hunt and S tevie Hayes. We're doing more and more of these acoustic trio's and we're also in the process of recording a CD.
Heavy Weather - the big news is that we've actually got round to releasing a Heavy Weather CD. "Bootleg Series Vol. 1" is to be released at a launch party at the Jolly Tar on Thursday 1st September. The album was recorded live in April at 'Blue Funk' in Poynton and features the best of the Heavy Weather live set. As the title implies, there'll be a 'Volume 2' hopefully around the New Year.
Bernie Marsden - This year I've continued to work with Bernie on gigs and various sessions. One of this years highlights (of which there have been many!!!) was appearing at Don Airey's Blues & Soul gig at Great Gransden in Cambridgeshire where I was lucky enough to share the stage (all at the same time) with Bernie, Don Airey and Ian Paice (from DeepPurple), Danny Bowes and Harry James (from Thunder) as well as members of Procol Harem. There are also dates for a Swiss tour with Bernie Marsden over on the 'Gig' page.
FM - well, what a year so far. Our European tour was a massive success. We were fortunate to appear at some of the worlds biggest and most prestigious rock festivals and had the pleasure of opening up for Foreigner and Journey. Two of the biggest bands of all time. At the moment we're in the studio putting the final touches to the follow up of 2010's 'Metropolis' album.
