The Wilderness & Rescue Ministry Institute is a leading provider of Wilderness & Rescue Ministry training, we specialize in not only equipping you for the gospel ministry of Jesus Christ but also in giving you the skills to carry this mission into the wilderness, remote back country, homeless or mission field as a leader of leaders. Our graduates can be found leading Christian adventure ministries, hunting trips and also serving in various evangelistic endeavors. Whatever your specific calling and gifts are, we can equip you to be better prepared for the adventure that is life and ministry.
Our training center is nestled on 125 acres near the Kentucky River in scenic Henry County, Kentucky. We offer a variety of outdoor classes ranging from Ministry Leadership to Wilderness survival, self-defense and Marksmanship Training. We have developed a well rounded, practical curriculum that has been widely recognized that will train students spiritually, physically and practically to serve the Lord to the best of their ability.

Jason Hunt founded the Wilderness & Rescue Ministry Institute as a training center for people called into the gospel ministry that have a desire to get back to the basics. He was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel by Governor Steve Beshear for service to the Commonwealth where he's worked as a pastor and missional church planter for over a decade. Jason was ordained by the late Apostles Charles & Frances Hunter and he holds both a Bachelor and Masters degree in Ministry with a Doctorate in Theology. Jason is also a published author having written over a dozen books related to the Christian life and he's pioneered three self-defense video series available on this website and at Amazon.com
Jason is also the President of Frontier Christian University and continually strives to improve the lives of those he encounters all to the glory of Jesus Christ.
Jason has been training in the martial arts for almost thirty years and was inducted into the 2001 U.S. Martial Arts Hall of Fame. He has black belt ranks in Ju Jitsu, Hapkido, Arnis and Krav Maga and is widely recognized as a self-defense expert around the world. Some of his professional certifications include Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training Firearms Instructor, Qualified Rifleman, Wilderness Survival Instructor, Firefighter/ EMT, Search & Rescue Team Leader, and Wilderness First Responder.

Krav Zayin: Weapons Skills
Krav Zayin (Zah-Yeen) or "Weapons Combat" is a system that utilizes ancient Biblical weapons in a modern context. Weapons such as the Stick, Knife, Machete and Staff are all detailed in the Holy Scriptures as implements of warfare common to the Israelites of the time. In the 1940's these and other techniques were further developed and integrated into the style known as Krav Panim-el-Panim (Kapap), "face to face combat". In this unique 2 Disc training program students will learn to utilize these weapons safely and effeciently in a manner that will produce the most results with the least amount of instruction, typical of most Krav Maga style training. This instructional course follows the Hunt Survival Krav Maga Basic Skills Series.
Wilderness Combatives
The Hunt Survival Wilderness Combatives program introduces learners to the skills and fighting techniques utilized by Frontiersmen, Pioneers and Native Americans that pressed toward the Westward Expansion of the early United States in this 3 disc series. Weapons such as the Bowie Knife, Gun Stock Warclub, Rope and Rifle all played important roles in the daily life of those forging the frontier- they served as tools of protection and survival. The techniques within this program have been recreated from photos, descriptions and details from various historical accounts and have been adapted to fit within a traditional martial arts system that will be familiar to anyone interested in learning some new and unique combative skills.
Krav Maga Basic Skills
The Hunt Survival Krav Maga 4 DVD Basic Skill Series will train you in the core self-defense skills needed to survive a street fight and advance in rank with Hunt Survival Krav Maga.
