BIOBIOPainting is a way of life, a connection to the world. Julia grew up outside Washington, DC, spending weekends with her family at museums and galleries . She explored the world of art earning a BS degree from James Madison University. After many years of supporting the arts, teaching techniques in visual art and performing art, I have found my love of painting. The greatest experience is working with oils on canvas. The flow of the paint and my thoughts create images bridging knowledge, imagery and aesthetics. Whether painting Plein Aire, a still life, a photo reference or from my imagination, the key is interpreting images by creating a story and sense of emotion. I incorporate my love of nature into each painting. A continued theme in my work is depicting movement and change.
