Argentina has a combination of temperate climate and fertile land which make it a world leader in agricultural production. Grains and fruits have been exported from Argentina throughout the world for decades.
OZMY Vodka’s Signature Vodka Series is produced from the finest rye from La Pampa, a region whose latitude makes it ideal for cultivating this grain; while OZMY Vodka is made using grains from the western region of Buenos Aires province.
The “mash”, or fermentation mixture is distilled in feedback columns thus obtaining a pure, colourless and transparent spirit. This liquid, with nearly 96 % alcohol per volume is controlled chromatographically and filtered through active coconut carbon.
The water in OZMY Vodka comes from a natural spring which flows pure and crystalline through the ancient stones of the Andes mountain range, in Mendoza province. A superb water with low mineral content that can only be found in the purest places on earth.
The elaboration process continues with the “blending” of these two elements, pure spirit with pure water, in order to obtain a vodka with 40% alc/vol, the ideal ratio discovered in the 19th century by the illustrious chemist and scientist Dimitri Mendeleiev. The result is verified by complex instruments which assure the quality of the finished product: the eyes, olfactory senses and palate of our “kiper” (vodka sommelier). Only vodka which has obtained the approval of our kiper is bottled.

The origins of vodka, according to historical investigations, are found in Poland around the 15th century, as well as possibly in Ukraine and Russia around the same time. There are many legends and stories about its discovery but one thing is certain: these countries have given this pure and transparent spirit the name vodka, which translates from Eastern Slavic languages as the diminutive of water, or “little water”.
After the First World War many Europeans immigrated to the Americas. Amongst them were Mijailo Ozimkiw who emigrated from Ukraine with his daughter Ana in October of 1925, as well as Ian Myslinski and his wife Franka who left Poland for a new life in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Out of the union of these two families Horacio Myslinski Ozimkiw was born. Horacio was born and raised in Buenos Aires, where he studied industrial engineering and later wine elaboration. In 1995 he began to work as head bartender in an exclusive Buenos Aires restaurant. That would be the beginning of tour of the world to work in the best bars, restaurants, and cruise ships of places like the Virgin Islands, Miami, Ibiza, Marbella, Barcelona, Madrid, Brazil, Bahamas, Punta del Este, and Buenos Aires.
When he returned to Argentina, Horacio began a study of the notes written and left to him by his grandparents, vodka lovers like himself, who had been renowned distillers with their own small distilleries back in Europe. Putting those distilling methods into practice, Horacio Myslinski Ozimkiw began producing OZMY Vodka in limited quantities for his friends and relatives using a totally artisan process and bottling the spirit in numbered bottles.
Thus from the union of the founder’s last names as well as of his grandparents knowledge brought from Ukraine and Poland, OZMY Vodka was born.
