Ansel Adams said, "You don't take a photograph, you make it."
In my own way, I wish to make images that are not only visually stimulating, but will also stir our emotions. Photography has always been a part of my life. As a boy I was encouraged to take pictures by my father and I remember him giving me my first "real" camera, an Argus C3. Although, my interests changed often while growing up, I never set aside my love of photography. Through my life, I have changed equipment, technique and, how I view the world. My goal is still to "make" pictures, a never ending learning process. Altough, I prefer black and white because it is raw and strips away distractions and draws on emotion. I still love color and believe that a full color pallet adds vibrancy and warmth also important in photography.
I have been fortunate enough to have success being a winner and finalist regularly on several online photography contests that include top amateur and professional photographers world wide. I was chosen as the Grand Prize winner for an international contest. That winning image, "Maestro" along with another "The Grand Mesa" have been published in a new photography book called, "Winning Digital Photo Contests" by Jeff Wignall. I am very excited to be included with the other wonderful photographers featured. Thanks to Digital Image Cafe.
My photographs are here for you to enjoy. It has given me great pleasure making and sharing them.
Cheers,
Kevin
