Hello my name is Kohl Guffey, Im 16 years old. I started riding motorcycles when I was 4. Growing up I had always wanted to race, I finally got that chance in 2007 when I was 13. I concluded my first year of racing with a 125cc championship.
The beginning of my 2nd year in 2008 I moved up to the 250cc two-strokes and qualified for Loretta Lynns Regional. Two weeks later was the first race at our local track. That race I did not know would be my last. The morning of March 29th, 2008 I endowed my bike over a small double and was instantly paralyzed. I sustained a cervical c5/6 fracture in my neck. After surgery to repair my neck followed a long 3 months stay at the Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis where I participated in physical and orthopedic therapy 6 days a week.
I returned home that summer then continued on to school that fall. Everyday Im faced with some sort of difficult challenge whether its brushing my own teeth or if its getting dressed. I have now found of a possible cure in New Delhi, India. This is a stem cell procedure done by a doctor the name of Geeta Shroff, she has performed this for over 500 patients with all positive outcomes. Learn more on Shroff in the Media page.
