I am grateful for the life that I am living, day by day. From being able to interview brilliance to having the humbling grace of being called into ministry, I am floating in a daily state of grace.

Backstage with my friend, sister and favorite singer, Miss Natalie Cole. She did an amazing show at the State Theatre in Downtown New Brunswick,NJ, which I now call home.
It was the Fall of 1995 when I was told that I was going to be traveling to Bremen, Germany to see Tina Turner in concert and then travel with her to Copenhagen, Denmark for an interview. I had never heard of Bremen and thought Tina was perhaps not as large as I had dreamed. WRONG! The entire town and more was in the football stadium that held some 70,000. When she walked in the interview in Denmark she said "I heard you having a good time." I thought that was impossible with so many people but she said "But they weren't little black boys from the church screaming 'SING THE SONG!'"
It was powerful to enter the White House for the first time in my life during the Obama Administration. As a part of the brilliant work of the National Black Justice Coalition, several African-American pastors and clergy from affirming and progressive churches met during the 40th Congressional Black Caucus weekend! IT WAS LIFE-CHANGING! I took great joy posing with this photo of our President and seeing his face sprinkled throughout the galleries of white male faces was really stirring and stunning.
This is the wonderful signing for my latest empowerment book "ITS TIME FOR SOME ACTION" produced by Susu Stewart. My publicist Khairah Walker really did a wonderful job insuring that the day was a major success!

After 32 years of separatedly brilliant careers, the original members of Labelle--Sarah Dash, Patti Labelle and Nona Hendryx--came back together to make amazing music. Through my show PARALLEL PATHS, i was one of the rare journalists to interact with the powerhouse group and WE HAD A BLAST!!!! It was a hoot and a holla!
In the midst of it all, THIS is what the work is all about, being able to be there for my fellow man. It's the most humbling thing in the world when someone says PLEASE PRAY FOR ME!
