Marko Kern

February 17th 1948 Marko Kern was born in Slavonski Brod, the third son of mother Justina and father Radoslav.
As a member of a civic family, he meets with art early in his age.
He finished high school in Slavonski Brod. In touch with the Western influences, he was fascinated with the new musical style - rock&roll. In the period before he entered the Academy of Visual Art, he singed in numerous music bands, and set up a few.
Following his parents desire, he entered the Law studies in Zagreb, but he also continued with his singing, and prepared for the Academy of Visual Art.
Enters Zagrebs Academy of Visual Arts, where he graduated in 1972, in the Raul Goldoni class.

ABOUT
Marko Kern had 58 independent and some 550 joint exhibitions. During his artistic work he made more than 850 paintings and 3 cycles of graphics. He was a participant of the many colonies of visual artists in country and abroad, and cooperated as a set designer in a couple of theater plays. He designed some 50 monograph and made many turistic posters and LP covers.
He cooperates with a couple of galleries in Italy and Germany, and slowly withdraws from exhibiting in his own country.
