A LAN party is a temporary, sometimes spontaneous, gathering of people with computers, between which they establish a local area network (LAN), primarily for the purpose of playing multiplayer computer games. The size of these networks may vary from the very small (two people) to very large installations. Small parties can form spontaneously, but large ones usually require a fair amount of planning and preparation. As of 2007, the world record for the size of a LAN party is 10,445 connected systems, set at DreamHack, in Jönköping, Sweden. LAN party events differ significantly from LAN gaming centers and Internet cafes in that they generally require to bring your own computer (BYOC) and are not permanent installations, often taking place in general meeting places or residences.

Items that you will need to bring:You may want to make a checklist of the items you will be bringing with you, so you do not forget to bring anything, nor leave anything behind when packing up. Your own computer: *Tower, Shuttle, or Laptop(or modified tire iron, as long as it plays the games we will be playing!) Your own monitor.(Unless you'll be playing by feel and sound alone; you will then achieve god tier) Peripherals:-Mouse. (Touchpad or joystick, whatever frags your friends)-Keyboard. (Unless you have a better idea?)-Ear based audio. - Headset, Earphones, Earbuds. - (no desktop speakers) Cables and cords:- Cat5e/Cat6 - Ethernet RJ45 Patch Cable - Gigabit connectivity will be used- Power cords for your Monitor and PC - Unless you're enjoying wireless power.- Your own power strip, surge protection recommended - NO BATTERY BACKUP UNITS Game Software:-Certain games require the CD to play. Do not forget to bring your discs.PLEASE make sure to completely install and fully update all of the games we will be playing before coming, so you won't be left out while trying to update your software. This is especially your responsibility prior to attending. Money:-Your registration fully covers everything you will need for that day, however you are recommended to bring a few extra dollars in cash just in case something eventful happens. Clothing:-Time to bust out that badass or funny T-Shirt you bought specifically for this kind of thing. YOUR GOOD ATTITUDE!We want to have fun, and so do you. - Don't be an asshole.

If necessary, the winners will be available as indicated by Sponsors after the Tournament for promotional purposes. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in immediate disqualification without refund CHEATING: SpilledLAN has zero tolerance for cheating! If you or a member of your team is caught using any of the following cheats but not limited to: cheat codes, exploits, debug version game kernels or libraries, excessive ping of network devices or computers to slow network bandwidth. If you are caught cheating during any tournament match, it will result in the forfeiture of the game, and disqualification of your team from the tournament. ACTS OF VIOLENCE/Discrimination: Acts of violence or discrimination will NOT be tolerated! Intentional damage to the property, other guest's computers, staff property, network equipment, and items belonging to sponsors, is grounds for immediate removal from the event without refund. SpilledLAN & Staff reserve the sole right to define what is and what is and or is not an act of violence or discrimination. ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES: SpilledLAN party does not, under any circumstances condone any type of illegal activity whatsoever, including but not limited to the copying of illegal software, MP3's or distribution of pornographic material to minors. SpilledLAN/ Staff / Admins do not condone pirating. Each individual is solely responsible for the software / files and the copyright laws associated with items that are located on their machine. SpilledLAN does monitor and selectively block internet access to known applications commonly used to obtain pirated material, SpilledLAN reserves the right to deny network access and/or remove any individual from the event without refund if suspect of downloading copyrighted material while at the event. SpilledLAN collects and maintains logs of network activity in the event of an incident in which prosecution is sought by law enforcement officials. SpilledLAN reserves the right to disable internet access at any time for any reason at the event without recourse or claims for refund. In addition the SpilledLAN has a firm policy against viewing of pornographic material at our events. Please be aware that making pornographic material viewable and or accessible to minors is illegal. If a staff member sees pornography displayed on your computer at any time, you will be removed from the event without refund. Participants understands that his/her machines(s) are his/her personal responsibility and liability and agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless SpilledLAN event staff & sponsors from any claims arising out of, in whole or in part, the participant's use in any way of his/her computers, monitor, or other computer related equipment during any SpilledLAN party. OFFICIALS: SpilledLAN party officials execute all facets of the LAN Party and Tournament. SpilledLAN Administrators reserve the right to require any participant to replay any match for any reason, at their sole discretion and to disqualify any participant who fails to follow the official rules, who makes any misrepresentation relative to the Tournament and/or the redemption of prizes, who tamper with the entry process or the operation of the tournament or web site, who acts in violation of the official rules, who acts in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or who acts with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person(s). To ensure that players have played according to the official rules, tournament officials will review ALL game play during the tournament. Decisions by tournament officials are FINAL. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: SpilledLAN party Administrators are not responsible for any inaccurate information, whether caused by the official web site or by the web site users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the event or the tournament or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of tournament results. SpilledLAN Administrators assume NO liability for any injury, loss, or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with any persons participation in the event or tournament, including without limitation, participation in any real life activity, or injury, loss or damage sustained from use of any prize won. RULES

(1) - No UPS Uninterruptible Power Supply Battery Backup Systems(2) - No Speakers. Ear based audio only.(3) - No porn. This LAN is for all ages.(4) - No smoking Inside the Building.(5) - No alcohol or drugs.(6) - No weapons whatsoever will be allowed inside the event area. This includes pellet guns, knives, air guns, and anything similar.(7) - Sexual harassment will not be tolerated.(8) - No fighting, brawling, punching, scratching, kicking, or any other form of physical conduct. Fights will be broken up with force if neccessary and involved parties will be removed from the event. Law enforcement will be involved as necessary.(9) - No hacking or intentional network disruption. There will be 0 tolerances for this behavior(10) - Keep your food and drink away from other peoples belongings. As you would appreciate the same.(11) - We're not your mother. Clean up after yourself. (12) - No Cheating. If you are caught cheating, you will be removed without refund.
