"The purchase of a unique handcrafted gift from Ten Thousand Villages will not only support Childrens Home Society, but will improve the livelihoods of artisans in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East," said Sherry Kelly, Ten Thousand Villages store manager. A portion of the events proceeds will benefit Childrens Home Society.
ChildrenÂ’s Home Society (CHS) North Central Division provides counseling and care for unwed mothers and places hundreds of children in permanent adoptive homes in the Tallahassee area. Over the decades, CHS has expanded its services to provide not only adoption related services but also emergency shelter care, evaluation, counseling and treatment for abused and neglected children. CHS also provides services for infants and toddlers with disabilities and intensive in home services that are designed to strengthen and preserve families. In 2009 alone, CHS touched the lives of 4,499 children and families in the Big Bend area.
The event is one of many community shopping benefits hosted each year by Ten Thousand Villages in Tallahassee and across North America. For many years, Ten Thousand Villages has partnered with organizations like ChildrenÂ’s Home Society to benefit our local community.
First Franklin Financial is an independent financial resource that has been serving the retirement and investment needs of families, individuals, nonprofits, and businesses throughout the Big Bend for over 40 years. “This event is just one of many that make up First Franklin’s Give Back to the Big Bend Program. Where we bestow sponsorships and encourage financial education throughout our community,” said Branch Manager Brett Ewing.
